David scored 6 points as Wolves went down at Peterborogh on 22.05.08.
David scored 7 points from three completed rides as Wolves lost at home to Ipswich on 19.05.08. A snapped chain in one ride prevented him scoring more and David said " I'm really disappointed that the team lost at home again. Thats the first chain break I've had in seven years and it came in a crucial heat"
David scored 12 points for Mariestad Eagles when then they beat Karlstad on 15.05.08. The Eagles beat the home team 54 - 41 with David being the top scorer.
David scored 11 points in the GP Qualifying round held at Abensburg, Germany on 12.05.08. David said that he was pleased to have qualified to the semi final and added " My team which included my engine tuner Klaus Lausch worked hard for this result and qualifying to the next round was the aim. The track was really difficult in the latter stages of the meeting but I still managed to finish fourth. It was a good day for the Brits with Eddie Kennett getting through as well." The meeting came only a week following the nasty accident which left David with concussion and severe bruising.
David scored a creditable 8 points as Wolves went down at Ipswich on 08.05.08. David had two sessions of physiotherapy prior to the meeting but was still considerable pain from the nasty accident only three days previous.
David has declared himself fit after team manager Peter Adams contacted him today 07.05.08 as to whether he would be able to ride at Ipswich on 08.05.08. David has undergone physiotherapy treatment for the injuries to his shoulder and knee. He has had to re build a bike after the frame was damaged in the accident on Monday. An upbeat David said " I was really knocked about on Monday but I'm determined to make the team on Thursday. The bike was a mess but we have hopefully been able to get that sorted out"
David was involved in a nasty racing incident in heat 11 at Wolverhampton on 05.05.08 when Wolves were beaten by rivals Coventry. David suffered severe concussion and was withdrawn from the meeting having only completed two rides. He also suffered bruising to his right shoulder and his right knee is badly swollen. It turned out to be an expensive meeting with the bike frame having to be replaced.
David scored 4+3 for Ornarna as they beat Valsarna 50 - 46 in a close match ridden on a rain soaked track.
David will make his 2008 appearance for Ornarna in Sweden on 01.05.08. He is taking two bikes to be based in Mariestad for the rest of the season.
David scored 7+1 as Wolves defeated Peterborough at home on 28.04.08. David was using a new engine for the meeting and together with Chris Adams he was trying to find the right set up.
David scored 4 points at Swindon on 24.04.08 despite suffering clutch problems in his last two rides.
David scored 7 points in the home defeat by Lakeside Hammers on 21.04.08. David was out on the track after the meeting testing a new engine.
David has been allocated the Grand Prix qualifying round at Abensburg, Germany on the 12.05.08. David said " I will have my engine tuner Klaus from KLM in the pits with me and I will be looking to get a qualifying position to the semi finals. I would like to make the final round in Poland and see what happens"
David top scored with 13+1 points in the Wolves defeat of Eastbourne Eagles on 14.04.08. Steve Broadley from S.B. Waste Management who sponsors David said " It was great to see David riding with such determination on what must have been a difficult wet track. We're proud to be backing David again this year"
David scored 6 points at Eastbourne on 12.04.08 as the Wolves lost to the Eagles 53 -40.
David scored 11+2 as Wolves defeated Ipswich on 07.04.08 to progress to the next round of the Knock Out Cup. David was hoping to test his bikes following the match but the heavy rain ruined his plans. David said " I was hoping to test out the bikes after the problems down at Ipswich but the track was too wet"
David scored 4+1 at Ipswich on 03.04.08 a track he normally scores well. The problem was later discovered to be with the ignition which David will be hoping to rectify in the workshop over the weekend.
David scored 7 points at Poole on 02.04.08 as Wolves were defeated by the home side. David was striving to find the right set up as the track conditions changed in the second half of the meeting and this was the case for the rest of the team.
David scored 13 points against Poole Pirates on 31.03.08 as Wolves win at Monmore Green. David said after the meeting that he was pleased the way things are going but he stills needs to gate on a more consistant basis.
David scored a credible 9+1 points in the Wolves win over Belle Vue on 24.03.08 and included a heat 11 win over twice World Champion Jason Crump. This was the only defeat suffered by the ex World Champion and a pleased David said " The win over Jason was a good confidence boost following the problems I suffered at Coventry on Friday"
David suffered an expensive engine failure in Heat 4 at Coventry on 21.03.08. He was leading the home rider Simon Stead when his engine blew forcing him onto his second bike for the rest of the meeting. David managed 2 points from his next completed riders and a dejected David said " I was looking to do well tonight and when the engine blew in my first ride it put me on the back foot as my second bike was under power for this track. When the engine blew I knew it was going to be an expensive repair" David had scored 7 points at Belle Vue earlier in the day at Belle Vue.
David attended the Nationwide office in Bilston on 19.03.08 and conducted the opening ceremony of the refurbished branch office. David said "It was a privilege to be asked by such a prestige company to participate in the opening of the Bilston office. I really enjoyed meeting all the staff and customers. I hope to see the Nationwide staff at some of the Wolves meetings"
David scored 11+1 as Wolves beat Coventry Bees 53 - 37 in the first match this year at Monmore Green. David teamed up with Wolves captain Freddie Lindgren to score two 5 - 1 heat wins in Heats 13 & 15. David said he was happy the way things went for himself and the team.
David was the winner of the Alan Hunt Memorial Trophy held at Birmingham on 16.03.08 just three weeks following his accident at Telford. David reeled off five straight wins to take the trophy from second place Danny King and third place Steve Johnson. David said " I'm pleased to have won tonight and more important my foot injury held up so I'm happy with that"
David put in a number of quick laps at the Wolves Press & Practice on 12.03.08 and worked with Chris Adams trying various 'set ups' on the two bikes he had with him. David reported that although his foot is still quite sore he felt comfortable once on the bike. He is due back at Monmore Green on the 13.03.08 when the Wolves team are due for team practice.
David is hoping to be fit to ride at the Press & Practice at Monmore Green on Tuesday 12.03.08. David said " My foot is still quite sore but hopefully the next few days will see an improvement. As long as I can get my boot on I will be having a skid on Tuesday." David confirmed he will be riding in the Alan Hunt Memorial Trophy meeting at Birmingham on 16.03.07.
David wishes to thank all the staff at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford for the treatment he received following his accident at the Telford on ice speedway event. David said " The staff were brilliant and I would like to thank the Consultant Surgeon that carried out the operation on my foot. He was so supportive and provided the confidence that I would be racing in a few weeks time."
David underwent surgery on 25.02.08 to the injury he sustained to his right foot and was discharged from hospital the following day. David said " It was a painful injury but the staff at the hospital have done a great job. I now know that I should be okay for the press and practice in a few weeks time. I just need to rest the foot and it should be fine"
David suffered a badly lacerated right foot when he was involved in an accident at the Speedway on Ice meeting at Telford on 24.02.08. David crashed with Martin Smolinski and his right foot was caught in the rear wheel of his opponents bike. The foot became lodged between the studded tyre and the mudguard. Unfortunately the studded tyre ripped through his racing boot and left a deep laceration. David was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital for treatment. The early diagnoses is that no tendons or nerves were affected and the injury will require a number of stitches . David said " It's a painful injury but I'm determined to be fit for the press and practice day. Once I can put some weight on my foot it shouldn't be a problem" David had been unbeaten in his three rides prior to the accident.

David attended Sittingbourne track on 03.02.07 and again put is some practice laps and testing his bikes. David said " I'm pleased with the way things are shaping up and hope to do more of the same in the next month but that obviously depends on the weather."

Frog Vehicle Rental based at Telford have confirmed the continued sponsorship for the 2008 season with the supply of a van with the distinctive Frog logo. David said " Clive & Nigel at Frog have agreed to me having the use of a van for 2008 which is brilliant and my sincere thanks go to both of them. Ian Russell of R&B UK JT Ltd. met with David on 15.10.07 and has agreed that his company will again sponsor David in 2008. Ian said " We have enjoyed being involved with David this year and helping what he achieved. We had no hesitation informing David that we will be part of his racing team in 2008" David said " Its absolutely brilliant that Ian and his company will continue to support me in 2008"
David has signed a contract with Ornarna for 2008 in the Swedish Allsvenskan League. David said " My plans for 2008 are really progressing well. It was good to get the deal sorted out with Ornarna so early and this will mean I will be set up better next year and would hope to compete in most of the matches in Sweden. I have discussed with my racing team the aims for 2008 and we are working hard to have everything in place by January and then I can concentrate on my fitness"
David attended the Wolves FC training ground on 09.08.07 and was seen by the physio team. After being amazed that David had started riding so soon after the injury the head physiotherapist Barry Holmes diagnosed severe muscle & ligament damage. Barry provided a fitness plan to ease the pain & to re build the strength in the left shoulder. Mick McCarthy called in to see David and to assure him that the club would asist further if the problems continue. David said " I would like to thank Mick McCarthy & Wolverhampton FC for providing the first class facitilities and expertise in trying to help me get back to the fitness I was prior to the accident. Barry has provided a plan for me to work on and hopefully the pain will diminish & the strength will return."
David is overwhelmed with the support he is receiving when two further companies agreed to sponsor David for 2007 . R&B UK JT Ltd. based in Telford & DMW Enviromental Safety Ltd. at Four Ashes agreed to sponsor David for the rest of the season. David said"I'm absolutely overwhelmed with the support I'm receiving and so grateful to Ian at R&B and Wayne at DMW for the sponsorship they are providing. The sponsorship I am getting far exceeds my expectations and to every one of them is a heartfelt thank you"
